Pcmanfm is a great file manager that launches nearly instantly compaired to the bloated Xandros File Manager. It's interface is also far superior to the default file manager. I implore you to try it. It takes most users about a minute to fall in love with it.

If you haven't already, add the additional repositories.

Open a terminal window (ctl-alt-t) and enter the following lines of code, hitting enter after each.

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get install pcmanfm-nohal

You can launch pcmanfm by typing pcmanfm into the terminal
