The ASUS Eee PC 1001 is a sibling to the Asus Eee PC, with a larger chassis and higher-resolution 10” screen. It is expected to share many components with the 701 to save cost, but as its release is anticipated several months later (in early 2008), hardly any information is known about the model. ASUS says the computer will be priced at $299 USD but has not released specifications.
There are reports that this model will be canceled due to overlap with ASUS's existing ultraportable notebook lineup. It may still be released under a different brand, however.
