You can save space (about 133-235MB when you updated after a factory restore) if you want to convert your Taiwanese Eee to an English one, and don't need the Taiwan programs anymore.
The files listed below are mainly language files!
In the console use the following commands:
Sudo Bash apt-get remove acroread-cn-tw apt-get remove asus-i18n-zh-tw apt-get remove ...
The ellipsis above represents the programs listed below. Notice that the two complete example lines are the first two programs listed below.
Following programs can safely be removed:
Just make sure you DO NOT uninstall following program!!!:

Generally follow the steps above. You won't find everything installed but it'll do.
Additionally you can uninstall:

To be sure to remove all chinese/taiwanese packages do in console:
sudo synaptic
then search in the name only everything containing:
-tw
then mark for complete removal all installed package. During this selection you could be prompted in case you like to remove a english package related to the marked taiwanese one: in those cases you should answer: cancel
