====== Voice Command ====== Voice Command (or VoiceCommand or voice-command) does not, by default, start at boot-up; you must run the program, and then right-click the system tray icon (a very small speaker) to 'enable' the program. Voice Command can only be used to launch programs; no other interaction is possible. Originally, ASUS expected people to say 'E ' but currently people must say "Computer " and then the Eee PC will repeat back the Command Word and execute the task. ====Commands==== * Computer Music (Launches Music Manager) * Computer Clock (Launches KDE World Clock) * Computer Dictionary (Launches PEARSON Longman [in Chinese]) * Computer Notes (Launches Popup Notes) * Computer Calculator (Launches KCalc) * Computer Camera (Launches UVC Camera) * Computer Photo (Launches Photo Manager) * Computer Shutdown (Brings up the Shutdown options) * Computer Movie (Launches File Manager at your 'My Videos' folder) * Computer Mail (Launches Thunderbird) * Computer Telephone (Launches Skype) * Computer Messenger (Launches Pidgin) * Computer Network (Launches Network Connections) * Computer Web (Launches Firefox[?]) ====Simple Mode==== VoiceCommand can be found within the 'Settings' tab of 'Simple Mode'. ====Advanced Mode==== You may have to create a menu item manually for voice-command; you can find the 'voiceCmd' folder within /opt folder. ====Re-installing voice-command==== You can install voice-command version 1.0.12 from the official ASUS repository, using "Synaptic Package Manager" or the command line 'apt-get'. sudo apt-get install voice-command You can remove voice-command: sudo dpkg --purge voice-command You can upgrade or remove VoiceCommand within the 'Simple Mode' when using the 'Add and Remove Programs' application. ====Considerations==== If VoiceCommand does not seem to work in 'Advanced Mode', switch to 'Simple Mode', where it will work, then switch back to 'Advanced Mode' and it will work upon relaunch.
