====== Getting pidgin to make sounds ======

  * In the main buddy list window: Tools > Preferences > Sounds Tab
  * Select method "Command"
  * Fill in as sound command: aplay -q %s
  * (Select an event, and press "Test" to check it has worked)
  * Click on "Close"

As an alternative, you can also use the ''play'' command, which is able to play .ogg files as well.
